September 3, 2002
Verifia™ Inc., a leading provider of Internet
identity authentication solutions, announced today that
the company has joined the Financial Services Technology
Consortium (FSTC). The company’s membership in
the FSTC reflects Verifia’s continued commitment
to keeping abreast of the latest business and technology
issues pertaining to the financial services market,
and to participating in the industry’s development
of interoperable open-standard technologies.
“Verifia has joined the FSTC in order to better
serve our enterprise clients and to ensure that the
company’s significant technical expertise is utilized
in the creation of next-generation online security technologies,”
said Michael Yang, Verifia Co-founder, President and
Chief Executive Officer. “As a member of the FSTC,
we have a forum in which to share Verifia’s deep
understanding of the Internet infrastructure as it pertains
to the financial services industry, particularly in
the areas of login authentication and online fraud prevention.”
“The FSTC welcomes Verifia as a member of our
organization,” said Zachary Tumin, Executive Director
of the FSTC. “Their knowledge of identity theft
prevention will add significantly to the collaborative
efforts of the consortium as we work to develop new
standards of Internet security, particularly in the

Verifia expects to provide the greatest value to the
FSTC through participation in the consortium’s
Security and Infrastructure Standing Committee, as well
as in the organization’s Authentication Special
Interest Group. The company’s TiP (Theft of Identity

of online fraud prevention technologies that can significantly
increase a system’s level of security with minimal
disruption to the client organization or to the end
user.
